Prisoners, maleria and the motor bike chain

Feeling not great, gut ache and temperature but pressed on, as we English do, to the next farming group. Such nice people:

This is how pretty much all water is transported, from wells to homes.

Bricks, being made from local soils, by;

… Prisoners.
On the way back the chain broke, a new experience for our man, a taxi van to the rescue.

Feeling worse, slept 24 hours, and just been to doctors.

It’s malaria! Got the pills, should recover soon.
It’s saturday, a beautiful warm sunny day and it’s wonderful to have such care lavished on me by Ayubu and his family. A bottle of very expensive mango juice, which is so nice, fruits, roasted ground nuts and tea. Appetite’s coming back!
Just been visited in my shady recovery spot by peter and Abdu from work. Peter had ridden 2 hours from his home just to come and check on me. “If you are sick, we are sick”.
