Our man, undercover but not underground…

Survived maleria, second attack worse than first, quinine drips x 3:

Getting back to normal, thanks to all the nurses and doctors and (i suspect) students pretending to be doctors at the “doctors’ plaza” in Iganga. There was talk of taking me to the big International Hospital in Kampala, but they have Ebola there and I’m kind of glad they found a curtain rail to hang the drip line from, right here. I mean, malaria is bad enough!
Beautiful day for recovery at home in Namparika village.

Playing pied piper. You know, the children don’t have any games. We are inventing some. That great African game whose name I keep forgetting, with pots and pebbles. And Jacks, thank you aunty Jo! This is Mariam learning Jacks…

Thank you Jake for sending some games. “Jake’s parcel” is becoming an Igangan legend… Wait till it arrives!!

Beard’s growing, could be ready for Islam soon…
Meanwhile this is my lunch being cooked, charcoal stove, outside, as is the norm, like camping, all the time. It’s called “greens”, looks like a weed but tastes like Welsh laverbread

My team, visiting our man in a convalescent state. I felt like a king. The project is completely on hold till I’m better, no pressure!
