Our inconspicuous man in Kampala

It’s one thing being invited to a wedding introduction party but quite another to turn up looking conspicuous, so our man went shopping in the back alleys of Iganga for the appropriate and I’m told traditional garb. Ayubu proved most useful negotiating prices and bought a kunzu himself:

You’ll have to wait till tomorrow to see mine, but meanwhile I needed smart shoes to complete this mastery of disguise:

Our man reckoned that his disguise might be in vain if he was the only one at the party with a pair of trekking shoes poking out from beneath the veils of cotton:

I think these “refurbished”  delights might even look pretty sharp back at Summit?

Then it was 4pm and time for the customary daily thunder storm and accompanying deluge in which to test Blue Bell’s off road capabilities. Then the sun came out again:

Had one of those “1 hour out of the rest of my life” Pepsis in a bar. That’s another story, of politics and half-heard sentences. Nice to be home, beer-o-clock.
Can’t wait for the party!

Thanks Jo, having a blast here, well a blast in a Ugandan way. Actually about to start blasting the office exterior with a sand blaster. Watch this space!
