THE APPEAL, and more help as a result?

D-day, deliverance of MTCEA progress to the management board, farmers’ groups and our MP.

AFRICAN 9 o’ clock start, speeches, reports, graphs, consolations at stolen computers and infinite praises and genuine appreciation of my work, new ideas, actions and financing, both individually and through the appeal.

image

The appeal has sort of slowed up at just over $4000, a fantastic result even if it’s still short of our goal.
The Board and the member of parliament asked me to pass on their sincere and real thanks to all who donated, and to ask those who haven’t yet done so to hurry up and do so!

The MP, officially re-opening the MTCEA office after its makeover.

We visited a farming group who have benefitted from one of our animal traction micro loans.

My mate Milton, the MP, was very impressed with what he called the empowerment of rural communities.

image

He was a nice guy, very personable and genuine, offering to lobby his colleagues and the President to allocate resources for us. It’ll be interesting to see what transpires…

image

… But let’s just say the ministers for agriculture and IT have already asked for letters explaining our needs! Celebration lunch…

This is just such a boost for MTCEA, and though I say it myself, very largely a result of my being here. Like I keep saying, a little goes so far in a developing country.
